CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS FATO 9th INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS Kinshasa (DRC) November 17 – 22, 2024
FATO is pleased to announce the call for contributions for the FATO 2024 International Congress which will be held in Kinshasa (DRC) from November 17 to 22, 2024. The deadline for submitting contributions is June 21 2024 and acceptance / rejection notifications will be sent to submitters by latest July 31 2024. All contributions are subject to selection by the world congress scientific committee.
The FATO 2024 International Congress scientific programme provides sessions that address clinical, research, educational, industrial, innovative aspects of rehabilitation care and Assistive technologies. The scientific programme is structured around four (4) main blocks: Symposium, Oral Presentations, Poster Presentations, and Workshops.
Abstracts for oral presentations, posters presentations and symposiums will be reviewed by a panel of 3 persons under the coordination of the Scientific Committee. The Scientific Committee will compile reviews reports and, will select which abstracts will be accepted.
Workshop proposals will be reviewed and validated by the Scientific Committee, based on their relevance and based on availability of rooms during the congress.

Symposium: Symposia will present specific subject, related to rehabilitation, in a session where several speakers will address the same issue from a different perspective; developments, researches, approaches, strategies, etc., before opening the floor for discussion and debate with the audience. Where appropriate, symposia present differing points of view on a particular topic. READ MORE
Oral Presentations: An oral presentation is a professional communication describing a technique, case study, clinical trial, systematic review, or experiment delivered as a podium presentation during the congress. READ MORE
E-Poster Presentations: An E-poster is a professional communication describing a technique, case study, clinical trial, systematic review, or experiment delivered as a poster presentation during the congress. For this congress, posters will be displayed on paper, but rather projected on screen. READ MORE
Workshops: Workshops provide an opportunity for industry representatives to instruct participants about design features, prescription criteria and application of new products and devices. In addition, Workshop could be an opportunity for organizations to present new techniques and/or approaches. READ MORE

January 18th 2024 | Launching of the Call for Contributions |
March 1st 2024 | Beginning of congress registrations |
June 21st 2024 | Abstract submission deadline (in English and French) / Last day to make modifications to abstracts already submitted |
July 31st 2024 | Acceptance/ Rejection notifications will be sent to submitters |
August 22nd 2024 | Successful authors must complete their registration and confirm their participation by paying their registration fees. For those submitting (the proposer) a proposal for symposium or workshops, they are responsible to ensure that all speakers involved in their symposium or workshop have completed the registration and have paid their registration fees. |
September 18th 2024 | Successful authors must send their full communication (PowerPoint + text) and CV in English and French |
November 17th 2024 | Start of the congress |
